Destined for graceful aging, the 2023 Saint-Joseph Red is an exemplary expression of its appellation, easily competing with prestigious neighbors like the sought-after Domaine Gonon. The nose is captivating, with inviting aromas of smoky bacon, wild blackberry, and subtle peppery notes, complemented by carefully managed oak aging. On the palate, it's dense, juicy, and refined, showcasing silky tannins and abundant, vibrant fruit flavors. While charming and accessible now, this wine promises excellent cellaring potential of six years or more. Rated 94/100 by the Selection Committee.Vinification:
Hand harvested. Vines on the granite slopes of the communes of Mauves and Tournon. 70% de-stemmed harvest. Fermentation in open vats with punching down and pumping over twice a day for about 2 to 3 weeks. Aged for 12 months in 228 to 600 litre oak barrels.Color:
