Wine:

Rooted in the finest granite slopes of the appellation, the 2022 Le Passage Red Saint-Joseph showcases Syrah at its most elegant. Silky, refined, and beautifully floral with subtle spice, it’s driven by ripe, juicy, and vibrant fruit, wrapped in smooth, supple tannins. This is a pitch-perfect expression of one of the Northern Rhône Valley’s most sought-after terroirs—a Saint-Joseph with broad appeal and true character, awarded 93/100 by our Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, destemmed, cold macerated in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, indigenous yeasts, aged for 18 months in barrels, 10% of which are new.

Color:

Dark, brilliant red with purple tints.

Nose:

Aromas of black fruit mingled with mineral and smoky notes and beautiful accents of oriental spices and black pepper.

Palate:

Juicy and fresh, with ripe fruit flavours, this cuvée delivers a fine, velvety, and silky-smooth wine, elegantly framed by soft tannins.

Temperature:

Decant before serving at between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Roasted free-range pork and bacon, pike-perch in red butter, lamb in puff pastry crust, beef fillet with a strong gravy and local cep mushrooms.

Cellar aging:

From today until 2029 and beyond for enthusiasts.
