Wine:

From a nearly 90-year-old vineyard from which only the best grapes are hand-selected, the 2015 Red Eden Valley Love Over Gold Shiraz is the estate's most famous wine. Limited production and careful aging in 500-liter barrels, without any new wood, are part of what has made it so beloved since its first vintage in 2014. Indeed, the estate has set the bar very high, delivering a full, accomplished wine with notes of mocha, black olive; a shiny, deep Syrah with a very fine grain of tannin and a silky finish. Impressive! Rated 96/100 by Parker. A wine available only in limited quantities.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, total destemming.

Color:

Scintillating and intense ruby red.

Nose:

Refined aromas of mocha, accented by a touch of black olive.

Palate:

Deep and refined, this cuvée delivers a complex and powerful profile, supported by exceptionally fine tannins and a beautifully polished texture.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Beautiful piece of beef, roasted duck and melting potatoes, roasted shoulder of lamb with herbs, small game, jugged hare, cheeses.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2031

Barr-Eden Estate is an extraordinary vineyard, perched at nearly 500 meters above sea level in the pristine landscapes of Australia’s Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. This elevated location, combined with ancient schist and gneiss soils and careful aging practices that avoid new oak, results in wines of exceptional balance and maturity. Clearly inspired by Rhône Valley traditions, these wines rival some of the region’s finest. Led by Joel Mattschoss and Pierre-Henri Morel, formerly of Chapoutier, the estate is setting new benchmarks for precision and elegance.
