Thoreau - Rhum & Cognac

A unique blend of 70% Guatemalan rum and 30% VSOP cognac, Thoreau Rum & Cognac is a UFO, revealing at first nose complex and delicious notes of crème brûlée, cinnamon and orange blossom. Then comes, with aeration, delicate touches of rose and jasmine. The palate is of a striking sweetness and harmony, revealing an incredible length in a silky and melted texture. The finish, on dried candied fruits and hazelnut, offers a bewitching persistence. This blend was elected "Spirit of the Year" by French wine merchants and a jury of professionals.

Elaboration:

A unique blend of 70% Guatemalan rums and 30% V.S.O.P. Cognac. The final aging process is kept secret and takes place in the Les Bienheureux cellars in Charente.

Color:

Golden with old gold highlights.

Nose:

Very wide, complex and exhilarating aromatic palette. The first aromas reveal delicious notes of crème brûlée, cinnamon and orange flower. Then with aeration, delicate rose and jasmine petals mingle with this bewitching bouquet.

Palate:

With a striking sweetness and harmony. It reveals an incredible length thanks to its silky and melted texture. The finish is persistent with flavors of dried candied fruit and hazelnut.

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Respectively former Havana Club owner and Bordeaux merchant, Alexandre Sirech and Jean Moueix combined their talents in 2013 to initially produce the first 100% French whiskies. Their creations, under the label Les Bienheureux, have since been met with phenomenal and worldwide success, and are prized by lounge bars and connoisseurs alike, demonstrating in passing the added value brought by their blends and the quality of their original eaux-de-vie.

Encouraged by these initial successes, the duo was able to acquire its own distillery in Charente and thus create an innovative spirit based on rum and cognac. Daring to build a bridge between the Charente and the Caribbean, the alliance of the best of these two worlds, between the elegance of cognac and the charm of rum... A totally new blend, which shakes up the world of spirits!
