Castello Di Verduno
Red 2018
Our committee's review
A highly prized historic estate among Piedmont connoisseurs, Castello di Verduno is a family-run winery that has passionately and consistently preserved ancestral methods and the aging of its wines in large oak barrels for over a century. In the 18th century, the Italian royal family, Savoia, visited the estate to experiment with modernizing wines made from Nebbiolo.
Today, Castello di Verduno is managed by the Burlotto family, who continue the estate's traditions. Situated on the finest terroirs of Piedmont, including the gems of Barolo and Barbaresco, the 12 hectares produce high lineage wines in the purest Italian tradition, characterized by long aging in Austrian oak barrels.
A precious label we're partnering with for the first time, bringing you this exclusive cuvée, custom-designed for our members in collaboration with the Burlotto family.

The 2018 red Barbaresco exudes subtle refinement, with delightful aromas of morello cherry, red fruits, spices, balsamic notes, and fine wood. This attractive freshness translates to the palate with a substance that harmoniously combines power and finesse, with a pleasing amiability. A very seductive wine, ready to drink today and best served in a wide glass. Rated 92/100 by the Selection Committee.
