The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine The Jewel of Larzac, the Domaine du Pas de l’Escalette, with its 2-star rating from Guide RVF, truly excels in its field. For twenty years, Delphine and Julien Zernott have nurtured these wild, arid lands, set in terraces on limestone scree and home to very old vines. This talented couple crafts biodynamic wines that are remarkably precise and elegant, consistently guided by an ever-present freshness.

These altitude wines delicately explore the nuances of Mediterranean grape varieties, embodying a natural energy and minerality that perfectly align with contemporary tastes.
Wine Elegant and refined, the 2022 Red Terrasses du Larzac Les Clapas  is a superb wine, highly praised by the Best Sommelier in the World. The beautiful, fruity, and gourmand nose offers a sincere and precise fruit profile. On the palate, the perfect extraction and refined style are immediately captivating, with a dominant Syrah, vinified with whole clusters, adding finesse and a smooth finish. This wine boasts a truly superb texture, with depth, delicacy, freshness, and a long finish. This magnificent Languedoc is a must-have in the region. The Selection Committee’s Favorite, rated 93/100.
Vinification Hand-harvested, Syrah whole grapes, Carignan and Grenache co-fermented, 21-day vatting period, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in wooden vats, aged in truncated-cone and concrete tanks.

Certified organic and biodynamic wine.
