The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Perched at 900 metres on ancient terraces, Dominio del Soto is a hidden gem nurtured by the Chapoutier family. Nestled in the heart of Ribera del Duero, near Burgos, this organically farmed vineyard blends Spanish terroir with French winemaking expertise — delivering bold, refined reds shaped by clay and limestone soils.

Never one to sit still, the Chapoutier family continues to chase down Europe’s finest vineyards, driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence. Their latest Spanish adventure is yet another show of skill — and proof that their instinct for great wine is as sharp as ever.
Wine The 2020 Red Ribera del Duero Tempranillo benefits from its high altitude—nearly 900 meters—which imparts innate freshness and intense flavors. The nose opens with lovely notes of macerated dark fruits and soot, with a well-controlled, understated aging process. The palate is remarkable, rich and round, full and juicy, supported by silky tannins and impressive concentration, with a delicately spiced finish. This is a beautiful bottle to enjoy at the table, especially with flavorful or slow-cooked meats. A favorite of the Selection Committee, rated 94/100.
Vinification Hand-harvested in 20 kg crates. Vinification in stainless steel vats with cold pre-fermentation maceration. Part matured in stainless steel vats and French oak barrels for 3 to 6 months.
Certified organic wine.
