The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine A Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion, perfectly located on the slope that extends from Ausone, Château La Gaffelière is one of Bordeaux’s noblest estates. Champion of a classic, finely sculpted style, it produces wines that are elegant, deep and impeccably structured.

Clos La Gaffelière, a parallel wine made from the estate’s younger vines, captures all the finesse of this legendary terroir. In the 2017 vintage, time has worked its magic, revealing the vibrant mineral edge that marks the finest limestone slopes.
Wine The 2017 red Saint-Emilion Grand Clos La Gaffelière is expressing itself perfectly today, achieving a good balance between structure and aromatic complexity. Notes of black fruits, licorice, smoke, and oriental spices delight from the nose; the palate continues this pleasing and seductive register, with a beautiful finesse of style supported by good Merlots and, above all, a lot of voluptuousness and elegance. A lovely, very airy bottle, to be enjoyed now or for another 5 to 6 years.
Vinification Harvested by hand. Fermentation in stainless steel vats. Aged for 10 months in one-wine barrels.
