We’ve been fans from the very beginning, devoted to this discreet, humble and passionate estate. With barely twenty hectares, nearly half of which are Grand Cru, its steep hand-tended slopes are a marvel in themselves.
Wine The 2022 Alsace Grand Cru Sommerberg Vendanges Tardives Pinot Gris White is a wine of remarkable depth, instantly captivating with its candied fruit and mirabelle jam aromas, wrapped in a pastry-like profile that remains both pure and fresh. With 70 g/L of beautifully integrated residual sugar, it delivers a luscious, concentrated, and elegantly balanced palate, unfolding into a long finish of delicate spices, a hint of vanilla, and that irresistible touch of juicy mirabelle. A truly exceptional sweet wine that deserves time—let it age for ten years or more before pairing it with mirabelle or apple tart or a simple foie gras. A favorite from the Selection Committee, rated 94/100.
Vinification Hand harvested from 32-year-old vines. Whole berry pressing, static settling. Fermentation for 2 to 6 months. Aged on lees for 11 months.
Residual sugar: 70g/l
