|
César Marquez is a winemaker to watch, as his wines continue to impress. As the nephew of Raúl Pérez, he shares the same talent and instinct for blending and winemaking, crafting remarkable cuvées in Bierzo that are known for their precision and finesse.
With century-old vines, carefully selected parcels, and a focus on freshness and altitude, Marquez masters the art of aging in stainless steel tanks, barrels, and demi-muids (500 to 600 liters).
His deep understanding of terroir makes him one of the most promising winemakers in Spain. Recognized by Parker from his very first vintages, Marquez is also a driving force behind Castro Ventosa, Bierzo’s oldest and most legendary bodega. |

The 2022 White Bierzo La Salvacion is a spectacular wine made from Godello, sourced from a single hectare of century-old vines in the northernmost and coolest village of the appellation, at nearly 700 meters altitude. Vinified in 500-liter barrels, it reveals floral and yellow fruit notes that enhance a smooth, crisp profile with constant freshness. This wine is an absolute delight with an innate charm. Rated 94/100 by Parker. |
