The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Founded in 2010 by Chris and Suzaan Alheit, Alheit Vineyards is driven by a single goal: to capture the essence of the Cape by crafting wines that express the region’s grapes, soils, and heritage—sourced from old vines.

Their winemaking follows a pure, hands-off approach: minimal sulphur, indigenous yeasts, no new oak, and no filtration. This philosophy allows the terroir to shine, creating wines of remarkable integrity, vibrancy, and depth—crafted with patience and precision. The estate is particularly renowned for its stunning White wines, inspired by Europe’s greatest examples and made with an unwavering passion.

A true South African gem, Alheit Vineyards evokes the spirit of France’s finest family-run domaines, embracing a natural and deeply human approach to winemaking.
Wine Made from young Chenin Blanc vines planted on granite soils, the 2022 Western Cape Hereafter Here White opens with vibrant aromas of juicy white fruit, delicate herbs, and a touch of citrus. Its fine, smooth texture carries great intensity while remaining effortlessly drinkable—a wine that holds its own alongside the finest Chenins from the Loire Valley.
Vinification Hand harvested, the grapes are sorted in the vineyard and pressed whole grapes. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts for 2 months in old barrels of different sizes. Aged for 12 months then 6 months in vats before bottling.
