Wine:

The 2016 red Santenay 1er Cru Le Beauregard is a consistent, balanced, and perfectly ripe wine. It opens with shimmering notes of pit fruit, with a lovely freshness, cherry notes also adjusted on a present woodiness that underlines without imposing. The juice is deep, juicy, full and harmonious, with beautifully crafted tannins. Ready to drink until 2030. Rated 93+/100 by the Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, lightly crushed and destemmed, cold maceration, vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, malolactic fermentation and aged for 14 months in barrels (30% new).

Non-certified biodynamic viticulture.

Bright garnet-red colour.

Nose:

Ripe and fresh, with lovely pit fruit and cherry notes supported by woody notes that are present but not overpowering.

Palate:

Balanced and well-constituted, this wine reveals deep, juicy, full-bodied palate and harmonious tannins.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Terroir cuisine, game birds, shank, pike-perch with shallots and red wine, rabbit stew, coq au vin.
