Penfolds - South Australia - Bin 389 - Rouge - 2019

Wine:

The 2019 Red South Australia Bin 389 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from different climates on the island, aged in American barrels. Very fresh menthol notes, rich and abundant fruit (black currant, black cherry), and a touch of cedar and vanilla on the finish compose a seductive, generous, and seamless wine with very silky tannins. All the magic of Grange already accessible.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Aged for 12 months in American oak barrels of which 38% are new.

Color:

Intense and deep red.

Nose:

Elegant on beautiful aromas of red and black fruits underlined by a spicy touch.

Palate:

Rich and complex, this perfectly balanced wine reveals a supple and delicate tannic texture, a generous palate with a long and subtle finish.

Temperature:

Serve at 16 to 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Roasted quail with grapes, morel mushroom risotto, roasted lamb with herbs, braised beef steak with shallots.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2035 and more for enthusiasts.
