AWARDS

A wine rated 93/100 by our Committee!

Wine:

From the highest point of the appellation, on vines planted in 1941 where blue stone soils provide maximum minerality and freshness, the 2023 Red Saint-Amour Cocagne delivers an intensely flavored juice. With one-third whole cluster fermentation and one year of aging in demi-muids without new oak, this Gamay opens with lovely smoky and violet notes, showcasing balance and precision with pronounced freshness. The texture is full but not excessive, very elegant, and plays the refinement card with boldness and brilliance, resulting in a wine with a more infused profile than usual. This finesse is superb! It is already delicious today and stands out as one of the vintage's successes. Rated 93/100 by the Selection Committee.

David and Sophie Devynck have breathed new life into 4 hectares of ancient vines, nestled amidst forests and dry stone walls. Their Clos Sauvage, situated on the border of Burgundy and Beaujolais, is a hidden gem. At 450 meters altitude, on granite soils with clay-limestone accents, and farmed organically, this paradise yields intense, refined, and authentic wines.

With a meteoric rise and exceptional consistency, this estate is enjoying well-deserved success, and we are its biggest fans!
